Hi everyone -

Can you believe it - a newsletter! AND have you ‘friended’ Family Arts Needlework on Facebook?  We will be using Facebook for classes, pictures and newsletter, so be sure you keep track of us!

 

We were at market all week-end two weeks ago and saw some wonderful things we "didn't know we needed"!

 

For Needlepointers:

·         Needlepoint jewelry

·         Halloween and Christmas designs and the frames - you know those cute frames that are partitioned in little squares. We'll have a class for the Halloween design!

·         Wonderful mesh bags and beautiful padded tote bags

·         Halloween "mean faces" ornaments - these are so cute and different!

·         Incredible new bling for your canvas - including some "stuff" that feels like one of those Chinese finger puzzles - can't wait to try it

·         I can't even begin to list all of the new canvases and Libby Charts that are coming in.....

For Knitters:

·         Organic yarn kits - beautiful organic cotton kits for baby hats and blankets.....they're also sending kits for wash clothes and little face towels......this is really beautiful yarn. I'm anxious for you all to see it!

·         New kits and ideas from Bee Sweet.....you know, those beautiful, soft, scarves and wraps using the soft, soft mohair. Perfect for Arizona evenings and air-conditioned restaurants.

·         Fun new scarf yarns from Tahki and Trendsetters including a new strand-able with "sparkleys"

 

That's just a suggestion of WHAT'S NEW!!!

 

We have lots of wonderful classes going on here at the shop.......April, Margie and Lindsey are all teaching knitting.....We are so lucky.....

·         Lindsey teaches specific classes on Sundays, coming up is a fun Valentine project on Sunday the 5th of February and on the 26th of February she'll be teaching her beautiful fair isle felted purse. Classes are from 1:00 to 3:00.

·         Aprill teaches on Monday afternoons, Wednesday evenings and Thursday Afternoons and

·         Margie teaches on the 2nd and 4th Sunday afternoon..........April and Margie's classes are for those of you who "want to do your own thing". (As most knitters do)The class fee is $65.00 for 6 sessions with the teacher. We will keep track of how you use your sessions.......everyone knits at a different speed and some are knitting sweaters or afghans or scarves or wraps.....well, you get the picture! This way you can "do your thing" with a teachers help as you need it!

 

Needlepointers:

We are so fortunate to have so much talent here at Family Arts! Have you met Linda Corirossi? She's just GREAT! Linda teaches embellishment classes on Thursday mornings for 2 1/2 hours and one Saturday morning a month. We are so lucky to have her from January to April!  Your canvas will absolutely come to life!! She uses loads of creative stitches and textures......working with YOUR creativity and imagination!  Linda had her own successful shop in the Chicago area for 14 years and has been teaching here and in Chicago since the early 80's. Just recently she taught a Kimono class at the Art Institute of Chicago for the textile society. She has written 3 needlepoint books and is currently working on the 4th......

Class dates: Thursdays mornings: Feb 2, 23 March 1,8,15,22 and 29th.

Saturday mornings: Feb. 25 and March 10th

Class Fee: $35.00

 

Also coming with Linda a wonderful Christmas tree class. The canvas is a Mindy painted canvas, you have a choice of 5 designs...They are adorable! Linda has designed a stitch guide for each canvas.........If you would like to take the class come in and choose the one you like best by February 20th...

Class date: March 17th

Class fee: $35                                     

Canvas: $63.00

Fibers: your choice

Your membership discount applies to the canvas and fibers.
