Hi Friends -

Just a little "heads up" on some of the happenings at Family Arts.

We have THE PRINCESS AND ME Trunk Show in the shop until the end of October.  These little ornaments are so cute and very quick to stitch.  They come with a very well written stitch guide, so you have all the fun of stitching and "no brain power" needed. Remember your 10% discount on trunk show canvases (yes, that means 20% to members!)

Be sure and check out the upcoming classes.  Ro Pace is sort of full, actually we can squeeze in two more, but you'd have to sign up ASAP in order to get your pre-stitching.  Nancy Cucci is coming in February to teach her Hearts Gone Wild class.   I'm really looking forward to Nancy's class, I've been told she's a great teacher and the piece is really cute.  We've already done several color changes, so as usual you are not limited to the teachers color choices.  In April Jim Wurth will be joining us to teach two of his wonderful ornaments.  You have three choices -- One day class, two day class or take all three and have both ornaments.  This is a great opportunity to take a class from Jim, enjoy some wonderful stitching companionship AND end up with two beautiful ornaments!! We're trying to talk Jim into having a Mini trunk show with all of his other ornaments while he is here --- so --- it will be fun!

Remember - Barbara Richardson comes for embellishment classes the first and third Wednesday of the month (except November and December).  This is a perfect opportunity to "jazz up" one of your canvases with wonderful creative stitches and threads.  Each session is about 2 1/2 hours and is $30.00 per session.  Mornings

Now for my knitters -- We have a wonderful new yarn from Berroco.  It's called Comfort, it's an acrylic, nylon blend and is perfect for afghans and sweaters (especially children's).  As usual, we still carry Encore, also a perfect worsted weight yarn for basic knitting!

Have you seen Michelle's beautiful short row scarf knitted from Jasper.  It's really unusual and so much fun to knit.  The perfect gift for friends and family in those "usually colder areas".  We have some beautiful multi-color yarns, including and especially Jasper.  Receive the pattern for the scarf with the purchase of two skeins of yarn to make the scarf.

Hopefully, you noticed the wonderful Cotton Chenille yarn from Crystal Palace?   It makes a wonderful little wash cloth and towel for little ones (Jake actually "lets" me wash his face with his little blue washcloth).  It's also a treat for us "older face washers".  Michelle has put together some wonderful gift packages - one skein of cotton chenille, needles, pattern, lovely gift soap and of course, a rubber duckie.  All for $20.00.  A perfect gift for every knitter!

Be sure and drop by to see the beautiful "Beginning" afghan knitted by our student Iva Coen.  Our beginning class with April includes the patterns for the first 6 squares in a six week session and is $65.00.  The second, more advanced class includes variations on each of the beginning squares is 6 weeks as well, and is $65.00.  When you're done you will have your own beautiful throw and will be able to knit just about anything your little heart desires!  We hold the classes Monday afternoons
